Description

While the Sleipnir and Horn O’ Plenty have specifically dedicated lookouts to provide for the defense of the fleet, the Ark II’s lookout point serves a double duty. The glass bubble protruding from the great balloon of the Ark II serves as both a sentry post as well as an observatory for stargazing. These stars serve both as a navigational aid as well as a common source of entertainment for the crew. Constellations may not have any direct impact on their lives, but the skyborn still think upon them with a sense of wonder.

The room itself isn’t much bigger than a small hut, but it is furnished well. Red velvet lines the floor and brass fixtures on the walls and ceiling hold the telescopes still. A gyroscopic mechanism keeps these telescopes from bumping and rolling along with the vessel itself.

A radio set positioned here is linked directly to known Skyborn frequencies and allows for communication between ships without the need for middlemen.
